still truckin' along

Well, I don't have much to report this week (which is good I guess!)  Still on modified bedrest, but this has definitely been the most uncomfortable I've felt so far.  Babies must be growing lots now, and i'm just not feeling as good as I was earlier...knew that was too good to last! One (or maybe 2) of them has moved up by my ribs, and that's pretty painful no matter what position I'm in.  And the back pain has been constant despite my attempts at massages and heating pads.  I'm just almost 24 weeks, but keep in mind that's equivalent to the size of 36 weeks with a single, but then triple the weight of the babes!  I've been very lazy lately, sometimes not even getting out of my pjs unless someone's coming to visit, do dinner, etc.  It's been fun to see friends that stop by to keep company, or visiting from outta town and get to catch up!  Weekends do seem a bit busier b/c that's when I can actually get more stuff done w/ timmy to help, and I'm trying to get everything in order since i have no idea when i'll be confined to bed!

This weekend we went to a "Life with Baby" class at the hospital and it was actually really good! Lots of basics, but helped a lot b/c so much has changed since we were growing up, or even babysitting, etc. in high school 10 years ago!  The funniest part was in the beginning when they went around the room and we had to say our baby's sex, name, due date, etc.  The gasps and "oh my"s that filled the room of pregnant women when i said ours were triplets was hysterical!  All these women were in their last trimester, and I'm sure thinking "thank you Jesus" i don't have 3 in here haha!  Couldn't help but laugh!  It really doesn't phase us much anymore that it's any different, so I love seeing other people's reactions!
After Infant CPR and the car seat inspections next week, we will be all set to bring them home :)

Had to share something fun we got from Lance Berkman (through a good friend and old neighbor of ours that plays with him on the Cardinals now....thanks Mark!)
When we had to think of a 3rd boys name (we originally had 2 girls picked), we decided to go with something timmy, myself, and our families are all huge fans of and passionate about--the Astros!)  We've all been going to games since we were little, and that old team full of heart...Bagwell, Biggio, Berkman, Bell, etc.  were so special to us growing up! Out of them all, Berkman and Biggio have the most heart, Godliness, integrity, and determination, therefore Lance Craig.  When Berkman heard about that he gave us a "birthday" gift to Lance, and we already have a bat signed by Biggio, so these will be perfect in the nursery :)   Now we just need to get Paw Paw to sign something for his namesake Jack!

Have a great week!  Love you all!

no news = good news!

we get lots of pics every 2 weeks, but they
start to all look similar, so I'll spare you from
too many of them :)
Well, we got another good report at the appointment yesterday!  Not much to report, which to me is a good thing!  Here were the highlights in a nutshell :)

-- Dr. didn't seem concerned at this point about going into preterm labor soon (but said that could change within a few days, you never know!)
- I'll start wearing a HUAM (Home Uterine Activity Monitor) in 2 weeks to measure contractions and send reports to her...yikes!

--Got away with NOT having to do a 3rd glucose test yay!  She was afraid i'd pass out like I almost did last time I had it done, and said "we don't have time for that" ha!

-- didn't get exact weights, but said they are each over a pound and looking good!
--I can still make one outing a day, and she encouraged me to "take time for me" while i'm still feeling up to it!

This weekend I had another shower...babies are getting spoiled already!  My sweet Sisters-in-law and timmy's Aunt Liz hosted, and did an amazing job!  It was such a good afternoon at Cantina Laredo!!  Lots of family and friends, good food, and so many cute things for Londyn, Layton, and Lance Craig!  :)

Three Peas in a Pod

This weekend I had the most adorable, fun shower!  Thank you so much to the amazing hostesses--Kathy and Kelley McCoy, Ashley and Alyson (sisters), and Christy Tanton!  They thought of EVERY possible detail, and it was such a beautiful day that i will never forget!
And thank you also to everyone who came to help celebrate these babies....we had a really big turn out, and I feel completely spoiled by all of your generosity!  I LOVE the personal touches each gift had, and there are just so many!!

Here are a few pics of the day:

I'm now at 21.5 weeks, and feeling pretty good!  Been off work since last Wed., and I'm still missing everyone like crazy! It helps to have both sisters and several close friends still there who can keep me updated so i'm not totally out of the loop!  I will admit though, it is nice to be able to rest up (and eat up) for the babies b/c I am really feeling the need for it more now.  BUT it's SO nice to not be confined to bed all day!  I spend most of my time on the couch with the pups, do my one allowable outing (usually a quick trip to the store, manicure, prenatal massage, etc), then Tim gets home early evening.  So all in all the day goes by pretty quick!

Thanks so much again for all of your love and encouragement!  It means more than you know!

A little scare, but doing fine!

Well, if you lived in Cinco Ranch or were at Kilpatrick yesterday, you might have heard the ambulance-- much to my dismay!  The good thing was all of this happened during recess, so the kids didn't have to be worried and watch the ems do their thing while the entire front office was in my room too ha!  Still not too sure what caused it, but basically my blood pressure dropped really low and I was seeing black for a while there.  It all came on so quickly, but my team and the rest of our admin were so amazing at keeping calm but taking control!  They truly thought of every detail, right down to pulling my sisters from their classes and getting mom and timmy there right away!  Fortunately, after a bit I got back to normal, and the EMS cleared me to ride w/ family to the hospital instead of riding in the ambulance (thank goodness!!)  At first they wanted to take me out in a stretcher (seriously?!?), but settled for the wheelchair!

Layton Jack

Long story short, at the hospital they just did some other tests and put an IV in to get some fluids, etc.  Today I spent the day at mom's (they wouldn't let me be alone in case it happened again), then we went to see the doctor and got good news!!  She thinks this won't happen again, as long as I eat WAY more protein and get it every few hours.  She said the babies are much bigger now and taking all my food faster than I can have any for myself, hince not good for my hypoglycemia or anemia!  But the BEST news is that i'm not on full bedrest yet! (she said i may never be depending on how things progress!!) Instead, it's more of "house arrest" where I need to rest most of the day, but am allowed one outing or "event" each day  (could be Target, dr. appt, baby shower, etc but only one!)  This was great news to me!!  She said now that i'm done working, i really must focus on eating often (till i'm sick of it she said ha!) and resting those babies!

Lance Craig
It's so hard to not be at school, but I have to think of the bigger purpose now!

Londyn Grace

All 3 measured perfectly she said...not too small, not too big! And each about 13 ounces, so almost 3 pounds total-- no wonder i'm feeling lots of movement all the time now!!

Sorry for the long post....wanted to get it all out so i don't have to keep explaining to different people!  Thanks so much for your concern and prayers...so thankful they are all ok!

20 week update!

Wow! Cannot believe the babies are at 5 months! I made it to my goal at school (get through TAKS which was last week!), and now am in my final week! It's so crazy to think Friday will be my last day teaching for at least 5 years (probably forever, but you never know!) I am so sad to leave all my amazing friends at school, but it eases my mind knowing they are all 2 minutes away and i'm sure i'll see them often!!

Here's the update, followed by new furniture pics!!

how far along: 20.5 weeks
how are you measuring: probably close to 27 weeks

Size of babies: will find out weight at appt wed, but each close to a small cantelope
sleep? pretty rough....toss and turn all night, but thankfully not too tired during the day
best moment this week? that's a tie...getting our new car and getting the nursery furniture in and assembled!
movement? lots more! they are busy little bees in there!
food cravings? eating lots of eggs, mexican, and still cheese of course (esp. colby jack!) what i miss: not pregnancy related, but having several phone convos lately and getting to see one this weekend makes me miss some sweet college friends that are living out of state or out of town even more! it was SO good to catch up and laugh/reminisce on some good times!
what I'm looking forward to: first shower coming up next weekend! can't wait to see everyone and celebrate Londyn, Layton, and Lance
how are you feeling? bittersweet about my last few days at work, but ready for the rest!

Pics of the nursery-in-progress :)
